Most of Tirol is covered by forests and pastures. In summer time numerous cows, sheep and goats are about. Many of the routes lead through the working area of farmers and foresters who maintain and groom the trails. That is why a code of conduct applies for Tirolean mountain bike routes – to protect the bikers and all those who have to pursue their work.
- Control your speed at all time and approach turns in anticipation of obstacles!
- Show consideration for hikers and pedestrians and overtake only at walking speed!
- Take the degree of difficulty into account and assess your experience and ability as biker exactly!
- The wearing of a helmet is obligatory! Check your equipment before every bike tour!
- Accept roadblocks. Do not forget that trails have been above all designed for forestry. Close cattle guards!
- Show consideration for environment and animals and do not leave the marked route.
- For your own safety and for the safety of animals: make sure to finish your bike tour by nightfall!
- Do not leave rubbish!
If you follow these rules you can enjoy a maximum of fun and relaxation on your mountain bike holidays and at the same time you do your best to protect the Tirolean mountains.
